Out-patient services

 

The Haematology out-patient service is mainly held at the main out-patient building on Eastern Road. There are also clinics held at other sites. On Tuesday afternoons there is a lymphoma clinic held at the Sussex Cancer Centre and on Thursday mornings there is myeloma clinic also held at the Sussex Cancer Centre. On Monday afternoons there is a clinic for patients who have undergone a bone marrow transplant, this is held at the Haematology ward - click here to find directions to the ward. 

 

Please ensure you check carefully your appointment letter which will state the location of your appointment. Please inform us if you cannot make the appointment which you have been given so it is not wasted and you can be rescheduled.

 

Outpatient building

 

Where is it the main out-patient department?

The outpatient department is located on Eastern Road. It has out-patients department written on the outside of the building. The opening hours are 8.30am- 6pm. There is limited metered parking in the surrounding streets and is easily accessible from the bus stop. Bus numbers 1, 1A, 7, 14B, 14C, 23 37, 37B, 40X, 47, 52, 71, 73, 90, 94A, N7 and N99 all stop outside the hospital.

 

Where is the Sussex Cancer Centre?

The Sussex Cancer Centre is accessed via Bristol Gate Road. Click here to view a map of the hospital site. The centre is located on the corner of Bristol Gate Road and Eastern Road. There is a drop off point but no car parking specific for this unit. There is limited metered parking in the surrounding streets or the multi-storey car park which accessed from North Road which is a short distance further up the hill from The Sussex Cancer Centre. There are delays to enter the car park from mid-morning so please leave plenty of time.

 

The prices for parking are as follows:

  • 0 – 2 hours                 £2.40
  • 2 – 4 hours                 £3.60
  • 4 – 6 hours                 £4.80
  • 6 – 12 hours               £9.60
  • 12 – 24 hours            £17.00

 

What to expect?

Every effort is spent to ensure clinics run to time, however they can run late. Please be patient if this does occur. We are trying to provide every patient with the best possible care.

 

What to bring?

To help us please bring either your medications or a list of them. There is a small cafe in the main out-patient department to buy refreshments from if needed. Please arrive on time and be patient if the clinic is running late.
